At Yehudah Training Institute, our Woodwork Training Program empowers students with practical, hands-on experience in carpentry, joinery, and furniture making—laying the foundation for economic independence and craftsmanship excellence.
Why Woodwork?
Woodwork is more than just cutting and sanding lumber—it’s about creating opportunity. In Northern Uganda, where unemployment is high and resources are limited, woodworking provides a path to self-employment, job creation, and community transformation.
From custom furniture to construction components, students learn how to design, craft, and market high-quality wood products—skills that are in demand across Uganda and beyond.
“When you teach someone to shape wood, you teach them to shape their destiny.”
Each student gains real-world experience in a fully equipped workshop, learning from instructors who bring both expertise and mentorship.
Program Outcomes
Graduates will be prepared to:
Launch their own woodworking businesses
Join carpentry teams in the construction industry
Produce and sell handcrafted furniture locally
Train others and give back to their communities
