Yehudah's Mission
The Yehudah Training Institute (YTI) is a vocational training school in Northern Uganda. We empower youths by teaching skills, so they may be self-sufficient and live purposeful, meaningful lives that impact others positively. In Northern Uganda, where unemployment is high and resources are limited, teaching vocational trades provides a path to self-employment, job creation, and community transformation.

Curriculum
Education is the path towards community unification and transformation. The Yehudah Training Institute will offer a comprehensive curriculum that covers all the necessary skills for employment across the fields of woodwork, metalwork, carpentry, plumbing, building, bakery, tailoring, crafts and agriculture. The curriculum will be regularly reviewed and updated to reflect changes in industry standards.
Additionally, lessons will be taught from a Christian worldview, emphasizing the character, values, and ethics displayed throughout the Bible. Staff, instructors, and curriculum materials will be held to a high standard to maintain the integrity of our program.
Woodworking and Carpentry
Students will gain practical, hands-on experience in carpentry, joinery, and furniture making, laying the foundation for economic independence and craftsmanship excellence. From custom furniture to construction components, students learn how to design, craft, and market high-quality wood products, skills that are in demand across Uganda and beyond.
Metal Work
Students with learn the skills of welding, fabrication, and metal construction. Metalwork is essential for infrastructure, transportation, agriculture, and manufacturing. Skilled metalworkers are in high demand for their ability to fabricate tools, build structures, and repair machinery, making them key drivers of local development.
Plumbing
Access to clean water and sanitation is essential for health and community development. In Northern Uganda, where many people still lack proper facilities, trained plumbers are essential. The Plumbing Program empowers students with the tools and training to provide real solutions and make a sustainable living doing it.
Bakery
Students will learn how to produce high-quality baked goods and grow the business skills necessary to succeed in the growing food industry. With minimal startup costs, baking is one of the most accessible and scalable trades. Our program helps students turn flour and fire into income and impact
Tailoring
Tailoring is a trade that allows students to start earning almost immediately, with low overhead and high demand. From school uniforms and church attire to traditional wear and repair services, tailoring is one of the most accessible and empowering career paths—especially for women seeking flexible, home-based businesses. In a region where opportunity is scarce, a sewing machine becomes a tool of independence.
Artisan Crafts
Many young people—especially women—possess untapped creative abilities. Craft-making offers immediate opportunities to generate income through local markets, tourist sales, and cooperative business models. It also fosters pride, focus, and healing through the joy of making.
Agriculture
In Uganda, over 70% of the population relies on farming to survive—yet most still use outdated, subsistence methods. Our program bridges that gap by training students in modern, climate-smart agriculture that increases yield, improves soil health, and builds food security.
Computer
Whether applying for a job, running a business, or communicating globally, computer literacy is no longer optional—it’s foundational. This program turns students into confident, tech-ready contributors in their communities and beyond. When you give someone a computer, you open a window to the world.
